Five months of boutique
Six months have passed since my last blogpost. The reason for this is... LIFE and new adventures. After the successful exhibition of Francesca Lancisi, I opened a boutique and life has been a roller-caster since.
In this relaunch of the blog, I am sharing a few images from my newsletters and shop.

Francesca Lancisi
I would like to present the Italian artist who will be on show at the next ide&oda exhibition between 22-28 April in the Old Town (Gallery Nest). I met Francesca Lancisi at a wedding in Florence and she told me she was an ex-teacher turned artist. Once at home, I checked out her website and fell immediately in love. Her fine, sensual watercolors are so beautiful - happy and melancholic at the same time. She manages to capture a colour or form for every mood and emotion.
I am also amazed and impressed how she builds her online presence with an Etsy shop, blog, newsletter while organizing real exhibitions and, at the same time, being a full time mother!
See you there!

15 year of "misunderstanding"
This is a post for all those 58 that "Liked" my status on Facebook on the 14th of February - the story about how Tullio and I met. Well, last weekend, to celebrate the 15 years of "misunderstanding" (did u know that, he actually woke up his friend in the middle of that night and told him that he met the women of his life?!!), we went away on an indulgent trip to an amazing hotel: The CAMBRIAN in Adelboden, Switzerland.
I usually do not get blown away by hotel design, but this time I held my breath. Here are some photos (and many more here):

How do you hide a TV?
Have you thought about how seldom a TV is shown on the photos of designed interiors? Even TV benches are often without a tv on them? A TV would usually would destroy the atmosphere and the beauty. Usually the photo is taken from an angle so that the TV cannot be seen or there is simply no TV (temporarily maybe?). However there must be some solutions on how to integrate/hide a TV in a living room without it intruding on the harmony of the space.
Here are a few solutions I found that are not too bad:

Neon Art
I have for a long time been dreaming of owning some neon art. It's so much fun: the light, the colours, the shapes, the statement, the words. Even my kids loved Dan Flavin at MAMCO:

Designing in concrete
At the pop up shop last week I was selling Tove Adman's concrete lamps, tables, candleholders and clocks. I had hung the nude concrete lamp on a coat rack but a lady asked me how else one could hang this lamp. Below is an answer on the first photo: on a nice tree branch for example. I have also found some other inspirational images with her designs.
The ide&oda webshop is only a few days away....
