My kids' wardrobe

I also wanted to share with you the curtains I have finally finished. They sit on my kids respective wardrobe parts. I printed them through the UK company The Fabric Press. The photos are taken by my dear friend Yllekalsong. I know that more styling and cleaning up of the room could have been done to show off the interior, but... next time.

Barcelona

Lampshades made from recycled cardboard.

No, this blog has not come to an end. It has just been on holiday. Lots have happened this past month, but here I am sharing with you one of my trips: to Barcelona. You cannot go to Barcelona without 1.) noticing Gaudi and his organic world, 2.) noticing all the cool design and art everywhere, and 3.) without eating too much.

Above is a dream gallery selling lots of different affordable art - something for every taste.

A free Christmas and New Year gift - from Francesca Lancisi

Click here to download English version of this calendar.

I met Francesca Lancisi at a wedding last summer. She told me about her career change from teaching Italian to becoming an artist (beside being a full time mother). Since then, I have followed her on her website and facebook and she has amazed me since. Her drawings are so peaceful and beautiful and her aquarelle collages are so harmonious and fun. She is also doing such a creative job in using the internet to promote her work. For example, she is offering a free downloadable calendar for everybody - to print and give as a gift! I am now offering it to you! Enjoy!

This year I am just not getting into that Christmas mood... So here are some general interior images to indulge in. Some days I would like to live in the cool white and grey home, and some days, I want the colours and the mix of contemporary and vintage, and some days I want the romantic and bohème... How do you overcome indecisiveness?

Evian-les-Bains

When visiting my friend's exhibition in Evian-les-Bains, I discovered a design shop called Eccetera where I popped in to buy some Christmas presents. In Sweden there are thousands of similar shops but in the Geneva Lake neighbourhood they are rare... This kind of shop would be a dream to open (even though I would love to have more of the less known design brand names...).

Below is a video and photos I took at Jade's expo (www.jadesculptures.fr):

Chairs

The black chair by Swede Bjorn Dahlstrom was inspired by Art Noveau yet is so simple and fresh. The pine chair by Danish Cecile Manz is called Pluralis - a mysterious chair composition for three. The chairs on the third and fourth images are by Gamfratesi - a Danish/Italian design duo. They call the fourth chair for the Cartoon chair for its cartoon-like proportions which adds an element of surprise.

My dad sent me these South African house photos. This modern "fort-house" is beautifully sad in some amazing way.

In London last week, I went past the American shop Anthropologie. I could not go inside unfortunately (which I regret immensely) but I have been checking out their cool things online.
